Events

For event notifications as they happen, please follow us on Eventbrite.

Our core programme is:

Writing workshops for women – 6-8pm, in person and on Zoom, first Tuesdays of the month (break in August). These workshops are led by experienced poets and will teach elements of craft, and/or introduce you to new prompts to generate written work.

Poetry Playspaces for women – 2-5pm, in person only, usually third Saturdays of the month and usually at ARC Stockton but this does occasionally vary, please check on Eventbrite for up to date information. These sessions are led by TWP members and explore aspects of poetry that do *not* begin on paper – vocal work, writing from movement or meditation, outdoor writing, performance techniques, filmpoems and many more interesting and odd subjects may form this aspect of our programme!

TWOOMPH! for all genders – 6.30-8pm, Zoom only, usually 2nd Tuesdays of the month. With a national headline guest and eight slots for open mic readers of any gender, reading work from any genre. We ask that open mic readers sign up in advance and let us have the text of their 5 minute set so we can screen-share documents for d/Deaf access. Features fun games and prompts in our “half-time shenanigans”!

Thriving Women for women with lived experience of poverty and/or social injustice – 11am-1pm, in person at Norton Community Resource Centre with listen-in access via Zoom, every other Tuesday. This is a partnership project with Thrive charity, a supportive group that offers not only the opportunity to write but also to perform, create annual anthologies and filmpoems.
